Monthly Budget and Cash Flow Tracker, Excel Spreadsheet in CAD
A calm, clear budget file for a full year of Canadian dollars.
A Canadian budget planner spreadsheet for Excel: income, fixed bills, everyday spending, and savings, month by month, in CAD. Enter your income, expenses, and savings month by month. The totals are already built, so the file shows your net cash flow for each month and a running total for the year without any hand math. White cells are yours to fill in. Blue cells calculate on their own.
What is inside
- Cover: a short start page that explains the file and the order to use it in.
- Income: monthly rows for salary or wages, self employment income, investment income, rental income, and other income, with monthly and yearly totals.
- Fixed Expenses: monthly rows for the costs that stay fairly steady, including rent or mortgage, utilities, insurance, phone, internet, subscriptions, and transport passes.
- Variable Expenses: monthly rows for the costs that move, including groceries, dining out, fuel or transit, entertainment, clothing, personal care, gifts, and other spending.
- Savings: monthly rows for an emergency fund, retirement savings, a vacation fund, and other savings, kept visible as its own part of the plan.
- Cash Flow Summary: pulls the four sheets together and shows total income, total expenses, total savings, net cash flow, and cumulative cash flow for every month.
- Yearly Totals: the full year on one page, with a category by category breakdown under the summary.
- Guide: a one page PDF that walks through the setup in plain steps.
Who it is for
Anyone in Canada who wants one honest view of money coming in and money going out across a full year. It suits employees, self employed people, couples, and households who prefer a file they own to another monthly app fee.
How it works
- Download the spreadsheet and the guide after checkout, then open the spreadsheet in Excel.
- Start on the Income sheet and work through Fixed Expenses, Variable Expenses, and Savings, entering your own amounts by month.
- Read the Cash Flow Summary for the month by month picture, and Yearly Totals when you want the whole year at once.
What you need
Microsoft Excel, where the built in formulas work as designed. The file can also be imported into Google Sheets if you prefer to work there. No account, subscription, or bank connection is involved.
FAQ
Does the tracker start blank?
Yes. Every amount is yours to enter, and the totals update as you type.
Does it connect to my bank?
No. Nothing connects, syncs, or uploads. The file sits on your computer and holds only what you put in it.
How do I get the files?
Both files, the Excel spreadsheet and the PDF guide, are delivered as downloads after checkout. There is nothing to ship.
